Telling stories with your body and connecting with your city. De Stad Danst (The City Dances) is a participatory project in neighbourhoods of Amsterdam, organised by us in collaboration with Theater RAST. For De Stad Danst, we’re looking for amateur dancers, performers and theatre enthusiasts aged 14 to 84 who would like to pay tribute to the city and nature. No dance or theatre experience is required!
Take part in De Stad Danst: an outdoor event paying tribute to trees, animals and the wind. A different section will be prepared in each district of Amsterdam. As a performer, you will work on the piece for a month, directed by Marjolein Vogels and Elize van der Steen. On the 9th and 10th of July the different districts come together for the performance: a demonstration, a tribute.
ARE YOU IN?
Send an e-mail to projecten@rast.nl with a short introduction and any dance and theater experience (but none is required). We will contact you as soon as possible! You can respond until March 27th, the introduction/workshop is on April 2nd.
Rehearsals: 2 hours on all Saturdays from May 7 to July 2, May 29 and June 26 in Oosterpark/Noorderpark/Erasmuspark
Final performance: 9 & 10 July 2022
