Between July 8 and 12, we are hosting our annual summer academy, WE LIVE HERE.
WE LIVE HERE is the annual summer academy where we create time and space for experimentation, research, and reflection. Every summer, at the end of the season, we come together to work and think. This initiative is a co-production with BAU, space for independent performing arts residencies and public events.
Explore
This year, WE LIVE HERE will focus on the delicate balance of our ecosystem. How do the five kingdoms (animals, fungi, plants, humans, and technology) coexist? How can we relate to our fellow earthlings?
We are eager to create a community, new rituals, and unheard stories that inform us about our relationship with the ecosystem we are a part of. We look forward to learning more about unseen and unknown networks that play a significant role in maintaining this delicate balance.
Perhaps we, as humans, can learn something from how the other kingdoms organize themselves in relation to the whole. We are curious about nature religions and indigenous knowledge, different origin stories, and different versions of creation. We want to explore an eco-futuristic gospel, a new path, a new sound, a new togetherness.
Program
We will start the week with an exclusive excursion to Stal Buitengewoon in Hoevelaken, a holistic center for humans and horses where psychosocial therapist and animal shaman Petra Nelstijn will guide us in finding a connection with all living beings.
Seeking new connections, networks, and ways of gathering, we will continue exploring fungal cultures and more-than-human choreographies during a two-day workshop with Finnish choreographer and performance maker Maija Hirvanen.
The program will also include Chi Kung, singing and chanting together, as well as meetings/ workshops/ lectures with, among others: composer Gary Shepherd on the Frequency of the Earth, Soundbathing with Klara Alexova, a work session with Ibelisse Guardia on connecting with the cycles of nature, and a HOW DO YOU WORK conversation with choreographer Jan Martens on shared leadership.

5-day program from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, including delicious vegan lunches, dinners and a visit to Julidans.
