vanishing acts - Felix Schellekens

An imaginative journey where everything eventually fades away

Maybe you’ll suddenly see me appear, so quickly that I become invisible. Maybe you’ll see me dancing among my invisible friends, and a song I sing will linger in your mind. But was I ever really there? Or did I exist only briefly in your imagination? Have you already forgotten me?

In vanishing acts, Felix Schellekens reflects on those fleeting moments when the impermanence of life becomes undeniable. Everything is destined to disappear—our surroundings change, we change, and everything we try to hold onto inevitably slips through our fingers. How do we learn to embrace the solitude that comes with knowing nothing ever stays the same?

Felix sings, dances, and plays at the fragile edges of existence, where reality and imagination blur into one. His theater-making debut is an imaginative exploration of life's impermanence and an invitation to embrace the change of life.

Felix Schellekens

Felix Schellekens has been an essential part of our organization for nearly 10 years! As a dancer, performer, and singer, we have shared a journey filled with growth, adventure, and creative exploration together.

He performed in 8: METAMORPHOSIS, a production that received the VSCD Mime Prize, was nominated for the VSCD Swan, and won the international Music Theatre Now competition. Additionally, he has worked with various renowned companies and was nominated for a Louis d’Or for his role in Weg met Eddy Bellegueule by Eline Arbo under Toneelschuur Producties. Now, under the guidance of Nicole Beutler Projects, he is creating Vanishing Acts.

Felix Schellekens cannot easily be confined to one discipline. After studying at the Mime School in Amsterdam, he further developed as an actor, singer, dancer, performance artist, and theater maker. His great sensitivity and playfulness, intertwined with stark imagery, encourage the audience to feel rather than think.
